I just checked my version number.
It says GM 1.00I
E18
NovI2006

I have just quickly tested it and it works OK just like my A710 IS before it.

It creates a 12mb RAW CRW file, then you have to convert it to DNG format (20mb file) before Adobe camera Raw and Lightroom can see it.

You do get just a raw file with no in camera settings, so you do have to change a few settings before it looks right but I guess thats why we have Raw.....

I used DNG for Powershot v1.1.4 which I used for the A710 IS I had.

I did read on DPReview that there might be a version 2 now.

You know what the worst part is? Canon could enable this (like panasonic has on a lot of their cameras) with a simple firmware update instead of making people hack their cameras to use them.

You are right - it seems rather unkind of them... but I doubt they will do that because then who would buy the new G9? :roll:

Off to read up on it (I have a G7 and am not upgrading). ;)
