I just noticed this.
On shutter priority mode, I can change the AF points ok (one shot, al focus, al servo). Now when I switch to Aperture priority, I don't seem to be able to change AF points.
I'm pretty sure I used to be able to change on any mode apart from the auto.

Is there a problem with my camera, do you think, or is it me having a "Mr.Thicky" moment (camera bought in May this year, so far only 3000 shots fired).

And yes, the lens is set to AF not Manual, and doesn't seem to make any difference if USM is on or off, and is the same thing whichever lens I put on.
Hmmm! Puzzled now.

Any Ideas please??
Thanks
V58

I am puzzled too, I am not sure what you’re talking about.

One-Shot, AI Focus and AI Servo are AF Modes.
AF Points are dots in the viewfinder that glow red when you press shutter button half way (or press * button).

Which one of these you cannot change, Modes or Points?
Also, which Shooting Mode was used?

USM cannot be turned on or off, that’s the ‘hardwired’ feature of the lens itself.
You probably mean Auto Focus/Manual Focus switch on the lens.

What we see depends mainly on what we look for.

Sorry if my post appeared vague, I meant Modes.

I can change the AF modes in Tv but not Av.

No probs my friend, just wanted to make sure that we are talking about the same thing.

Can change in TV, cannot in Av, hmm.. that’s strange!
How about P and M modes, can you check them out just quickly?

Lemme go see and report back.

OK - works fine in Tv, M, and P.
Now has decided to work in Av as well - "Houston, we have a problem"!
Think I will get this thing checked out, as it certainly didn't want to change modes earlier. Grrrrrrr.!!

All's well that ends well - keep an eye on Av mode for a couple of days and enjoy your shooting..

Will do. Whippet dog racing tomorrow, so not too worried about Av mode for that (shoots sport or Tv).
Thanks again.
