Hi

Just got the A80 and very very happy with it. I took it to my sons school the other night for the end of year show. The pix came out ok except that everybody seems to have redeye.

I haven't done anything to adjust the flash at all and wondered what I can do to stop this happening.

Never used your camera so this is general advice. Most cameras have a red-eye reduction option on their flash settings. You could try that.

If that doesn't work/you don't want to use it etc, I'd just remove the red eye using PS or whatever.

Were you taking photos of them acting on stage?

Yes they were on stage.

I suddenly have this feeling that I am about to be told a very obvious answer that I should have thought of. :o

Lol! Not really :)

Red eye occurs where there is a large differential between the ambient light and the brightness of the flash. The red eye reduction feature probably won't work on stage so I can only think of two things: Increase the brightness of the stage lights, or removing the red-eye in post-processing.

Unless someone else has any brighter ideas....

Not bad at all - Some software packages have a special red-eye reduction option built in, but otherwise its pretty straighforward to do it manally.

The software that came with my camera had a red-eye reduction option on it. I'm a Nikon user so this may not be applicable for you, but it would be worth looking.
- I believe your camera comes with Photo Impression and that it has red-eye opition.

There have been quite a few threads on this so it would be worth doing a search to see what software others have used.
