what lens should you use for snowboard/ski photography? i was thinking of getting the 85mm 1.8 but dont know if thats long enough. i used it in basketball and it was only really good for things around the net.

For right in there, I'd suggest a wide, mainly a fisheye. For top of bottom of the hill I would highly suggest a lens with good zoom range, anywhere from 70-300mm (not that lens in peticular, though). wonderful skateboard adventures:
