Just added some possible birding sites around Cape Town to the WIKI: click (external link) also to be found there is SA Birding web site which Paul may be interested in. Huge birding opportunities. Am hoping to fit in 2-3 hours lunch stopover at the West Coast NP en route from CT to Springbok. We need to stop somewhere as a long/dull drive otherwise and it'll be an ideal time to visit there.

Need to start doing some reading again.

This weekend I went to the yearly holliday fair in Copenhagen. Got about 15 cm brochures only about Africa. More and more agents are now sending people to Namibia and & Botswana. Last year at the same fair I only found one agent doing that.

btw I thought I wanted to update the logo on the wiki page with a real photo from africa instead of the zoo photo

With two vehicles we should be covered and we will ensure we get decent variety.

Hehe the brochures actually mentions that Namibia & Botswana is usually never the first choice for first time africa explorers.

Try and get photographs of the blue crane. It's our national bird :)

We saw a pair at the Addo (in 2005 ~ crumbs must go abck again sometime soonish) but sadly I was driving and it was at a point when I just could not stop - very gracefull looking birds as I recall with very long primary feathers that at rest appeared to be the tail feathers ~ does that make sense of what I saw???

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

Coffee, I would thought you could have nipped down to the bar for a pint but I suppose you were at the 'office'
