If linking to images hosted on other sites, could you *try* and keep the image sizes to respectable limits for us poor sods stuck with 56k dialup, or mark the post as 'warning to 56k users' etc so I can avoid those posts. IMHO, there's no real reason why the image has to be 1/2 a mb in size for a web based (non critical) post. Not trying to be a party pooper here, just give us guys that are stuck without a broadband connection a chance to view your images.

Cheers,

Dave

dpastern,
I agree :) and I have an ok connection but unless printing why have pictures so large? ??? Some broadband connections even have download limits, and there are still many dial up users. For these reasons I keep all my photos posted online under 100K (achieved by using compression).
Here is an example of a under 100K typical macro photo thats big enough to show what I saw :)

That was exactly my point John, a lot of users here do keep their files down to 100kb, even those linking to images hosted elsewhere. Didn't want to sound like I was being a whinger, it's just frustrating for us still left in the ISP stone ages...

Thanks Bill, it's not only me, there are others that are still in the ISP stone age.
