Picked up a 40D as a second body this week.
Used it for the 1st time yesterday.
Here's what I love about it.
1. The LCD. Man this thing rocks, it's larger, brighter and clearer and the magnification seems bigger than my 30D.
2. The AF is seems so much faster.
3. 6.5 fps. If you have a heavy hand watch out. Took a few minutes to adjust from my 30D
4. The on body grip so much better than the 30D.

You can see some shots here and here.

Oh btw here's what happened to my 30D

What is it about the on body grip that is better? Oh and that is a great thing to have happened to the 30D. I am giving mine to my daughter.:D

I agree with the way the grip feels. I was down at my local camera shop last week looking at one. It just seems to fill my hands better.

Talking with the salesman, he told me he's sold 14 of them, and two or three had come back. I asked why, and he said focus problems. Hmm, that's the first I've heard of it on a 40D. Hope it was an isolated incident.

Canon 6D & 7D. Panasonic GX85 and a number of ever changing lenses.

The indentation is just like the 5D and it seems to have a better grip material as well as sizing. Of course I'm coming from the Xt so I couldn't say much about the difference from the 30D

Funny! Same thing happened to my 30D, but my son didn't get "L" glass to use with it. :)

Both of those shots are great!!! Kudos to both of you!!!

I have yet to relinquish my XTi to my 5 year old. She is content w/ her P&S for now, but she has asked to use "the big lens" a few times now...
