He's also eleven. When I got the 30D he started using my S3IS but kept asking to use the "Big Lens". The minute I walk in the door with the 40D the first thing he says "now I can shoot with old camera and the white lens". The 70-200 F4 is just perfect for him with that body. Wants to know when I'm shooting a game next?
I love it.

I agree with the way the grip feels. I was down at my local camera shop last week looking at one. It just seems to fill my hands better.

Talking with the salesman, he told me he's sold 14 of them, and two or three had come back. I asked why, and he said focus problems. Hmm, that's the first I've heard of it on a 40D. Hope it was an isolated incident.

Hmmmm......

Very cool. Same with my son, but I only have one white lens. :-) He was also using my
S3 IS. Great sports pics on Flickr BTW.

Dude, I'm feeling like the twilight zone here.
His name is Chris (my name), he's 11 (my son is also 11), you had an S3IS that he started with (same here) and now he has your 30D (same here).

Thanks for looking at my Flickr. Checked yours out as well.
What was your setup for the Arnold Show and where were you sitting? I'm planning on attending a Fitness Show here soon.

Uh oh, this isn't supposed to happen, we seem to have had a merging of parallel universes. Please everyone stay calm. I'll call the physicists. They'll take care of it.

I take my 15-year-old grandson on photo-outings occasionally, and I've given his mother (my daughter) a Rebel XTi, so I'm doing my best to make photography "hereditary" :).

The other day, I was in a wildlife refuge and my grandson spotted a Great Blue Heron -- one of our little projects -- and once I got my 30D set up on a tripod, when I was busy with something, he stepped up to capture some images. It's wonderful when your passion flows into those who are close to you!

Yeah, I had the same thought (twilight zone) :) At the Arnold show I was using my 70-200 F/2.8...10-20 rows back mostly (all weren't taken from the same position). To shake some of the twilight zone vibe - my son doesn't officially "have" my 30D (yet) I just let him use it for now. :)

Thanks for checking out my Flickr also.
