Is it likely to be reduced anymore because of the introduction of the 40D? This is in UK GBP by the way.

Hi Adam T!

I'm not sure about the UK, but I just picked up a new 30D yesterday here in the US for $970.

Credit buy now pay later, handy as long as you make sure you put the money away to cover it at end of the 12 month period

Don't buy if you don't have the cash! Save up for it.

I suspect the dealers in Canada are going to have trouble getting rid of their 30D's if they've had them in stock for any length of time.

I paid $1450 (after discount) for my 30D one year ago, whereas the new 40D at the same dealer is $200 less. The reason for the drop is that the Canadian loonie is essentially par with the US dollar, whereas a year ago it was much lower. Why buy a 30D for a $200 "discount" when you can get a 40D for the same price. They will have to discount the 30D's by at least $400.

Any dealer that has 30D stock that wasn't bought recently is going to lose because of the change in exchange rates.

Another example: Looked at a motorhome yesterday that was listed at $120,000; they sold four of them at that price, but since the recent drastic change in exchange rate, they now have to sell the last one at $100,000 because they can buy the upcoming 2008 models for so much less than they paid last year. In fact the US price according to Winnebago is about $90,000.

When did voluptuous become voluminous?
