hmmm... These all look great to me, Jeff. And if the B&G think they're great then that's all that really matters anyway. Just like I told you before, I wouldn't change a thing about these. I'm just another unqualified amateur giving his opinion. ;)

My intention here was to help Jeff improve. Jeff is one of my favorite people on POTN, and POTN is my favorite place to hang out. I think he has the potential to be one of the big names in wedding photography, maybe I can help him get there by giving him honest critique. In this case I wanted to give Jeff a bit of a kick to counter the "you're great" posts. He is great. This IS a good set of images, but read the bottom part of my first post on the thread for why I gave the critique I did. If Jeff doesn't want my critique he can send me a PM and i'll not comment on his images again.

I'm done with thread now.

Jeff definitely is great and has the potential to be up there with the greats of wedding photography and it's very admirable that you would point that out Tim. I think everyone needs to step back and realize what's really being said here instead of being offended because Tim thinks that Jeff should move on to bigger things. I think some things were also taken out of context which is sad but unfortunately, this happens often with the written word.

Bryan thinks this was Jeff's best wedding. Tim does not. I'd have to agree, it wasn't his best but it was different and still great. Everyone has an opinion and some times things get heated. I hope everyone can just step back for a moment and realize that this wasn't an attack, this was a compliment. And coming from Tim who normally tears peoples work apart, saying that Jeff could be one of the greats is a HUGE compliment. He never meant to offend anyone, I am sure.

Jeff, you are great. Your work amazes me. You have incredible potential. And, I am sure you'll make it very far. Don't run away from POTN though because I'd hate to have to pay at one of the pro forums to see your work :-)

How you can judge a wedding from 8-12 pictures beats me - not directed at anyone.

I like the contrasting colours in these Jeff. Three especially works really well.

The three that don't work for me as well are:

One definitely is exposed well but is dissapointing in its composition.
Two - agree with Tim.
Five is a little hard to find the bride and groom at first.

Tim - not your best work mate.

A solid looking set of images Toogy that i am sure the B&G will adore. I love the colours in these and ofcourse the sign image is just hilarious. Keep up the great work , i always love seeing your posts as they do inspire.

That bride makes me think of Courtney Cox. Anybody else see that?

Wow - Jeff, you have set a new standard for yourself (and the rest of us)! Between you and Lloyd, I'm embarrassed to post here any more! These are breathtaking!

(...and after posting this I read the rest of the thread. Hmmmmm, opinions are like....., but I like to read them all...good and bad. I appreciate Tim's perspective, and while I don't agree with most of what he has to say in this instance, I value honest opinions and varying points of view when I post work. Tim, feel free to give me a kick in the pants anytime you think I need it. I may not agree, but it will cause me to take a second look...)

I like it - but it's like a fisheye lens...best when used sparingly (says the guy who used the fisheye for about 45 minutes at Saturday's wedding). I think you used the holga lens to great effect - I really like the garage door one in the "chat" thread (that it took me about 30 minutes just to skim through this morning).

Perhaps it was retaliatory...

I guess when two pros use a word such as "Meh" as a comment and critique it becomes an official term by default.

Geezzz people ...chill....as harsh as Tim gets at times his critique is very usefull at the end of the day ..and Toogy ..I always look for You posts and i am always pleased with what i found if I may add something #1 is great but i have to agree that traditiotal positioning on the right wouod help this picture and for #2 i am not sure about the shadow on the wall .i understand that it was both intentional and hard to avoid ....just doesn't click to me ..overall great performance as always !

You mean this? Nice catch! ;) Funny.

#5 - meh... - I like the effort that went into the shot, but not sure I like how the tree is lit up as much as it is.
