Yes Bill, I would be interested to know as well. I have not seen this before but then again, I have only been trying my hand at macro for two months.

Excellent capture and refraction - never seen a wasp doing this.
Maybe she thinks she's taking a bunch of flowers back to the queen ?

Assume this activity is similar to other bugs and is done as an aid to digestion by firstly concentrating the stomach contents a bit (by evaporation- bees do this as a preliminary to honey making) and also possibly by mixing the stomach contents with more enzymes from the salivary glands.
