Who loves the 300/350/400Ds BECAUSE they're so small?

I love the 400D because of its size.

I like it cause its a "convertible". I add the grip to make it big (when size counts) and take it off and use the nifty fifty and its the same size as my P&S.

The only reason I own the 400D rather than a 40D is because of the size/weight.

My old 350D felt awkward and cramped to start with, until my brother pointed out I was holding it wrong. I was trying to actually hold the camera (i.e. support weight) with my right hand. Once I realised that it's the left hand that supports the weight, and the right hand provides control/stability, it suddenly felt comfortable :) My right hand is under no tension as it's only very lightly holding the camera - if I let go with the right hand the camera does not move. Even large-ish lenses (e.g. Sigma 100-300 f/4) are no problem. In fact I find them easier to hold on the 350D/400D than on something like the 30D, simply because there's less weight/bulk.

I keep the 400D in the tank bag when I go motorcycling. Perfect size.

I keep my 300D in the tankbag too. Always ready to throw it on the bike and take off.
