I was trying to remember what a Sawfly looked like (I'm getting rusty lol). #1 must be particularly trick, in trying to get enough light on the sawfly itself, without horrible reflections from the car's surface. Do you drop the FEC a bit for that type of shot or just change the direction of the flash path (or both perhaps)?

I guess the colour seems close to a neutral gray, probably helps a bit. I wonder if the paint has a high absorption rate (of light) as well.
