my bro said omg i just killed the biggest spider ever..i was like WHAT! for god sake next time get a glass.i hate people killing insects..so there was a dead house spider on the floor..hmmm my mantis is hungry..get the camara out..:lol:

2nd pic is an old one..squash any one?..lol

2 more..i really like the 1st pic..every thing is out of focus but his head is very clear..

2nd pic was at ratio of 3:1..trying to make more shadows but i need another go.

Lovely series :)
Think it's worth continuing playing with the lighting perhaps even with the flash heads off the camera lens (I think an uplit shot would look good) :)

the giant Asian mantis live for 2 years..they shed 3 times in there life with there last shed being about 1 year after there born..and while they shed for the last time they get there wings..by the time this thing is full size hes going to be over 10 cm long and as fat as a sausage being able to take down mice and small replies...they rock..:lol:

i bought mine fomr the internet..3.50£ for babys which was 1 inch when i got it.it stays in plastic tank..very easy to look after..perfetc for macro work.:)
