Haven't seen this posted yet... sorry if it has.

Would be interested to hear any user reviews once anyone gets a chance to kick the tires!

Also, anyone know where to get best pricing?

Wow. Seems like 4 and 5 were just released! Have to check to see what the "new" features are.

I agree. I only use PSE5 for a few images that can use a little sharpening.

Don't touch PSE5 unless I need to clone something out, etc. Lightroom covers 98% of what I need on a daily basis.

Yeah, me too... except I've been using PSE3 (and just got a machine with Vista this week vmad), so I thought it could be worth the upgrade to me... at least to get compatibility with latest camera RAW and other features.

Well, if it's anything like version 5, then it's not going near my computer. I just threw version 5 off, reverting back to PSE-3. That over-bloated, slow, redundant organizer cataloging scheme is about as useless a feature as I've ever seen. I tried it, and I worked hard to get it to work for me, but I simply do not find it useful.

At least PSE-3 has an interface that works like Windows Explorer - simple, fast, and it matches the functionality of the system that I use for most of my file managing tasks.

I thought the organizer was one of the best things about PSE v3 with tags and all... made searching images based on content a breeze!... but, I can see how people don't like to import, or have their own workflow too.

I thought a recent post stated that PSE 5 acutally had that explorer interface, but that it was just hidden in there somewhere... I'll have to see if I can find it.

-edit that post was actually one of yours... I'm guessing the explorer interface in PSE5 wasn't as you expected it to be?

You're guessing correct. Yes, PSE-5 can be set up to show a file view similar to that of Explorer or PSE-3, but I've found that you still have to run through the cataloging process and that is very time-consuming. And, after I archived a couple of months worth of images and removed them from my hard drive, the catalog still "saw" them as if they were there.

I really thought I had found my solution a few days ago, but after working with it a while, I found that it wasn't giving me what I wanted. I just want PSE-3 interface with a more sophisticated editor.

I recognize that some users prefer the cataloging scheme, but I don't want to be forced to use it. It doesn't serve a function for me at this time.
