I have some great stuff Jim, but unfortunately not all macro so not suitable for this forum. I had a disasterous day yesterday and might post the pics from that as it is quite funny.

Yeah I know...but at my age, do I really want to go to the expense for something just to take fun pics with? I am not doing much wildlife stuff anymore.

well,, thats your call Joan,, I dont think your age has anything to do with it,, you certainly seem to be enjoying yourself with taking pictures, and your active with the photo clubs that your in,, I think a nice tool like a DSLR would be a nice gift to yourself that I'm sure you would very much enjoy,,,, I dont know about you,, but I like to treat myself every now and then,, I work hard and deserve nice toys and I'm sure you do too,, just my 2 cents worth

Thanks Jim....I just remembered we had a club meeting last night (Monday) which I forgot with it being a holiday!!! In a way I have to agree with all you have said Jim, but cameras are extremely expensive here. If they were $800 okay, but they are a LOT more than that.

how about ordering online? I'm not trying to persuade you , but there are options,, you dont have to pay ALOT of money for a good DSLR,, I think I got my 400D for less than that with a kit lens,,

Jim:
With our exchange rate...it does not mahe a lot of difference, but If I decide to get one, I will order it on line Jim. Thanks for the link.
Bill
At the moment I am using a small Powershot with 8 megapixels so it is not very good for really close up work. I was using normal SLR's up to two months ago when I got this one.

I have been quite happy with the little camera Bill, but I do get a bit frustrated at times when I want to take something and cannot get the pic I know I can with better lenses.
