I just shot my second wedding as an assistant. I spent alot of time coordinating the shots. This was really a challenging wedding. The wedding was planned in a month to accomidate her dying father - her father showed up late and missed the ceremony. A woman kept taking pictures with her 35mm that didn't zoom so she got right up in the bride and groom's face most of the ceremony. Everything was held outside in the backyard of a small individual house - read no background. The ceremony was held under a tent, stairs led to the deck in daylight, and the deck was under another tent with different shading. I got an extreme crash course on lighting. Luckily, the primary had a flash that he was using to fill everything in.

All things considered, I think that I did much better than my first wedding, I had alot of fun, and I didn't have much post processing to do, which is amazing for me! I'm really looking forward to C&C.

Thanks!!!!

Stacie

And last one. Thanks so much for any C&C.

16 Not sure about this one - the thought was there, but not sure if I got it.

Thanks for the comments! I'd really appreciate any other feedback - am I good enough to continue?

Did you shoot these with the 70 - 200?

Just some little lighting (which you mentioned), DOF, and focus issues.

Nice comps and it looks like you caputured the right moments.

Stacie -- I think you did a pretty good job, especially considering you were shooting a good bit in direct sunlight, and the background of the photos is a little less desirable. I like the artsy ones the most -- the rings on the hands, and the cake photos (beautiful cake, btw). The WB is off a little on the photo of the ladies stealing the frosting from the cake.

Who is that preacher / minister, by the way? He did one of the weddings I photographed!!!

Stacie,
I think you did really a very good job under such trying circumstances. My favorites are 11 and 16.

I think you are on the right path. You need to just watch your exposure (which I think is the hardest part anyway). Some of your images are underexposed (easy fix in PS) and some show very blown out areas (happens to me too, but you learn with time what parts are "acceptable" to be blown out if there is no other way. A few shots seem a bit soft.

My favorites:

7, 8 (but adjust the levels a bit), 9 and 10 (I just wish you had a less distracting background)

Keep it up, you are getting there :)
