Hello all,

A rather simple question, but I want to make sure that my friends didn't do damage to my camera; they decided to bring a wrestling match into my apartment room, much to my anger and dismay, and knocked my camera case over and it ended up in the middle of the pile. Suffice to say I was not happy. That said, the case protects my camera well, but I wanted to make sure of something; how well does the autofocus of the XT, on a specific focus point (such as center) do in low light or on large blank areas like walls/large tv screens? I find the focus to be hunting poorly, having to back all the way out then hunt in for the focus, but I assume that is just due to the nature of the light and the "subject" if you will.

It may seem like a rather trivial or stupid question, but I just want to make sure. Thank you in advance.

Dan

Hey Dan! Your camera needs a contrasting edge to function. Put a stripe of non-transparent tape on that blank wall.

That's what I thought...Dan! Haha, thanks. I used a calendar earlier as that contrasting edge and it worked fine. You've put my obsessive mind to rest.

Woo. I don't have to hurt my apartment mates now.

Haha. Thanks all.

Seeing about $1500 worth of equipment almost stepped on makes your heart beat faster. My camera case getting knocked on to the ground, combined with some paintball equipment in a case by my dresser, and wrestling college students...scary sight.
