A really awesome series of shots. Great detail!

May I ask: Do mantises make good pets?

here u go..check out how small he is.still a baby.all u need is a cheap plastic tank some soil on bottom and heat mat on bottom not in the tank under the tank, sorry for out of focus pic i was in hurry but u can get an idear on how small it is,.

small plastis tank
soil at bottom cleaned out once a week
stone and a plastic plant for him to climb on
u cant see it in the pic but small bowl full with small stones then toped up with water..this way he cant drown when its drinking the water,.
sat on heat mat 2?3rds so 1/3rd is not on the mat..this way the mantis can go to the cold part of the tank if he gets to warm..

feed crickets 1 every 2 days.when hes bigger feed bigger things and more often. This is the 1st time i have seen or had one as a pet..and now i have had one i want more..difrent breeds...:)

They are oxyopsis peruviana, sometimes i breed them and release most of the nymphs at the backyard, keep a few for me :)

mj your nuts lol almost like powow trying to convince people to get these huge pink tarantula's like his. that would be a good pet for you too actually. eats the same stuff your mantis does and the same type of setup would work for it
