I wouldn't say the Pro 1 flopped, but it didn't stay on top for very long. However I would really like a P&S with CMOS and good fast glass. So if Canon decides to make a Pro II, my wishlist is:

8-10MP APS-C CMOS sensor.
f/2-f/4 18-70mm lens.
2.5" Rotating screen
Digic III
RAW
CF Flash
BP-511 battery in the grip.

The question is, can they make a 400D in a smaller package, cause that's basicly what they should be aiming at.

Yes!

Small is the key word. I want a P&S where I can go on vacation, and actually be happy with the quality/feel of the images.

The "feel" from small CCD sensors is just not the same as CMOS.

I think Canon should make a real PRO P&S, as you said...

here's what I want:

18-125mm f/2.8L lens, with image stabiliser
ISO 50-1600
CMOS sensor, BIGGER than the previous one
8 megapixels, I want as big pixels as possible :)
super built quality
2.5 fps? :D

A real pro P&S. Quality has to be better than from the D40. ;)

G9 or S70 (old but takes PHENOMENAL pictures) are almost what you want in size and picture quality.
