Looking at the 40D stats, comparing it to the D80's and you can't imagine how useful the difference between the two are then maybe you should stick to the D80 and change your name? Fortunately for you, both camera have an Auto mode. Sorry for sounding mean but both cameras have the capability to take great images but only you can decide which one is right for you.
