need some help on getting self timer turn off

k i try pushing the timer button off and it would say off but when i press the shutter it would goes back to timer mode. i try taken the batteries out and turning the camera off. still would not get out of timer mode. is there a cf mode or something that i accidentally hit. reread the manual twice still no help

It would say "Off"? Don't you just switch between timer, single shot, and burst?

on what camera?

for the 30D, hit the drive/iso button, move the wheel near the shutter to the right, and you'll see a single box pictured in the drive selection.

for the 300D, someone else will have to answer.
