I am in the process of buying an angle view finder for my 5D. The original one from Canon cost $225.00 plus 6% GST (in Canada). However, I can get from e bay (made in China) for around $55.00 including S&H. If it's not a huge gap, I would rather buy the original one but in this case it is different story. Any suggestions? Thanks.

i would bet others on this forum have gone both ways....hopefully just a matter of time till one of the ebayers chimes in.

until then, I'd say go for the ebay one and hope it works out. not a huge chunk of change to lose, but a lot to be gained. aside from that, check out the seller feedback and see if anyone bought the same thing and what feedback they gave.

I have one of the cheap angle-finders. I like it but it uses plastic viewfinder adapters which I don't trust in terms of longevity. Take a look at the Hoodman anglefinder -- not as cheap as the no-name brand but cheaper than Canon's, well constructed and it uses aluminum viewfinder adapters.
