I just received my 7mdh earlier this week.
I love this bag. Looks great, holds a lot and more important, its extremely comfortable with all my crap in it, weighing it down!

I'm extremely happy with the choice!

I browsed the thread but didn't see anyone with photos of a 4MDH up. Does anyone have that bag and photos they'd be willing to share? I'm just looking for a bag to drag along with me on some day trips. Hoping to fit 40d w/ 100mm attatched and have room for the nifty fifty and 70-200

Hi Melmo, I don't have a picture but wanted to say that the 4mdh will be too small for those items you want to carry. I think u should look at the 6mdh and up.

I was afraid of that :) But thanks, I'll do that. I have a few I'm watching on evilbay as well as other places. Thanks though!

Couldn't help but add my two cents to this thread. I picked up a 6MDH last week from ebags from the discontinued sale and found it to be too small. Everything fit really snug and I thought it was kinda like a man purse. I also wanted to fit my 10inch Samsung NC10 in there for when I'm want to edit and upload pics on the road but that was a definitely no go. So I sprung for the 7MDH. Well, unfortunately, the 7MDH is also going back as I really don't like having two clasps instead of one. It makes opening and closing a huge pain. Also, the kermit green color kills me. I have an old style 7MDH on its way from amazon and hopefully that will be my savior. I know a lot of people have a hard time choosing between the 6 and 7. I would say if you are going for a standard messenger bag look, the 7 is the closest.

For just packing the stuff in your sig and the notebook sometimes? Wow, thats a surprise. Did you experiment with dividers and such?

I can easily fit a gripped 40D, 10-20, 24-60, 50 1.8, 70-200 f4L and a 430EX in mine and if I had a eee pc 901, could fit that in the front pocket comfortably. Hoping that the dell mini 9 will be around the same size so I can fit that in there when it arrives this week.

With the 6MDH, I can fit everything in my sig and I modified the dividers so that I slide the netbook into the back with the camera into the front, but this was snug. The 7MDH gives me room to spare so I like it better. If I'm traveling I can also fit magazines, power supplies, and other travel gear into one bag.

How flat can the crumplers go when they are empty? I need to pack it in checked baggage while I carry my camera gear on board. Was hoping it will flatten down well in a suitcase.

this is exactly what I would do too.. I heard you just take out the dividers or you can fill it with socks and shirts

Aravena, others: I want a Crumpler bag for my kit, either the 6MDH or 7MDH. I'm trying to go as compactly as possible. Here's what needs to fit: gripped 40D with 17-55 lens attached, 430EXII, 50 1.4, 70-200 IS f/2.8. If possible, I'd keep the 70-200 in its case but that's not mandatory. I am 5'5" and weigh about 115 lbs. so I want something that's as light and compact as possible to carry in my car, to soccer fields, etc. which makes me lean toward the 6MDH but I'm not sure everything will fit. Also, what Crumpler pouch would you suggest that I could buy to attach to the exterior of the camera bag to hold my Blackberry curve & keys in the most compact, secure way? I'm looking at the discontinued 6MDH and 7MDH as I want the light blue/purple color.

That should fit in a 6MDH!

_aravena,

Since you seem to be the most knowledgeable source regarding crumpler bags, are there any "attachments" that can hold a Canon 580EXII, and connect to the side loops on the 5 & 7 MDH's?

I know my 430EX fits nicely in a Large Bundle but I'm unsure about the 580 and how much bigger it is. I'll take a pic and post it.
