Thank you Rafael for going into such detail in commenting on each entry. I'm sure all appreciate your effort. Congratulations to Boutty and Teekay! This was a super challenge, and yes, it is fun to pit the G1 against the heavyweights in the Canon lineup.

My shot was part of a door in an historic building on Norfolk Island, housing the armoury. The large worm trails are indeed sizeable - not sure of the tyoe of beetle however, and the small pin holes are made by borer beetle of some kind. Not a great deal of wood holding the frame together!

Congrats to the winners. Some nice shots there.

Nice work with the animations, Rafael. They're a bit fast on my machine, though. Did you set a particular interval? Thanks for handling this challenge.

Ah! Norfolk island again!
After your ‘Bloody Bridge Norfolk Island’ of challenge #81 I discovered fascinating places as Pitcairn Island and connected stories as the mutineers of the Bounty to real places and real people.

Thank you for posting the complete door and for your kind words.

Thank you rowdyred94. The frame interval was initially set to 0.5 seconds, but I slowed down the animated gif after your post.

and the runners up Teekay and Iain

thank you very much for judging Rafael
also expressing all the details re pictures in the list of entries
 that will be hard to follow

I know you were too kind to say my post was really not as requested but I couldn't see the wood for the trees (lol) ..meaning I didn't want to seperate the art work from subject as a whole
so posted it .....the carver/designer of the chair deserved it ;)
thank you for your comments

:)

Beautiful entries. Congratulations to all

Thanks for the #2 spot, and congratulations, Boutty, on the win. I really liked IanB's wormed wood.

My shot in the barn was tough since it was quite dark inside and I had to use a tripod for the 1 sec exposure which still turned out underexposed and needed work. The light on the rafters near the peak puzzles me, too, but I assume it was reflected from a door below.

Thank you teekay for the ‘behind scene’ explanation.

I understand. I must say I was literally hours deciding which of the three places assign to the top three pictures. It was unusually hard the decision for this challenge.

Yes, challenge # 007, the last week of march 2005 hosted by thefly

______

#007 - Red - pushtoexit, marie, IainB, MegaTrixel
Photos - THREAD 63251
Results - THREAD 64657

I think it is an old topic and it does not harm the challenges an isolated repetition provided we do our best in finding new topics.

The problem is that Boutty is in a small town without easy access to internet (he PMd me) and I’m not sure we can change the topic soon.

If you people think it is important to change the topic, I will do my best sending an e-mail to Boutty, but it will delay the start of the new challenge.

Post your opinion soon.

Oops! What have me done here! :o Sorry folks for causing all these confusions. Just got back from the short vacation with the family, as informed by sir Rafael - I didn't realise that my entry will even have a chance to make the top three, let alone being the host of this week's challenge. I found out the result while I was in town from a library Internet access. I picked this week challenge quicky before I was running out of time accessing the library PC without checking if the theme was selected before.

I hope you don't mind the re-visit to the RED theme again.

Okay! My credit card is on the bar! Andrew wants red wine, sir Rafael, what would you like? Double Johnny Walker (black or green label) on the rock? Anyone else would like to order one for yourself ?!?

PS. Thanks sir Rafael again about the closing date. I have also updated the challenge slightly.
