I happened to like the texture.

Naw, I find the composition simple and elegant to be honest. I love the texture as well and can see why ya chose to shoot it. Well done.

Just learning this digital stuff, having owned a camera for 40(!) years. Could it be lightened up a little with photoshop? Otherwise would be superb B&W
