First decent day here for ages weather wise, good excuse to go in search of the elusive Kingfisher. After setting up a hide i only had to wait an hour before the male landed just where i wanted him, managed to fire off a dozen shots before he flew off.

What a gorgeous bird, and beautiful setting. The wood perch and the blurred background are exceptional! Very, very nice...

Beautiful series. These shots are razor sharp with solid capture of the natural colours. Well done.

Love the shots, how long did it take you to find this little bird, you must have so much patience, hopefully one day i will be able to just see one of these birds.

They're very nice, but the catchlights in the first two look weird - the reason why I don't like flash for bird photography.

Thanks again for the comments.I agree with Keith the catch light is weird in the first two shots,i`m not too disappointed though as its the first time i`ve ever used fill flash, looks like i need more practice, good excuse for another trip out today.

Hullo mate.

This wasn't at Knypersley Pool, was it? I got one there last Saturday, but only had the 100mm lens fitted, and it's not good enough to show.

Still, it's on my PC as wallpaper at the moment!

Lovely shot :)
