Congrats on the new gear! I just bought mine, and am in the car on the way home. I bought the first one from the local store that wasn't preordered, so the first one the salesman held in his hand!

I think you will be very happy with it. I started with a Rebel, then 20D and then 5D. I got the 40D as a backup camera and I'm impressed with it so far. It's headed to Africa with me on Saturday and I may end up using it more than the 5D for the extra reach.

The wait is always the most difficult part. Have fun with your new gear.

Alot of people seem to be posting about all the problems, but I have an idea that you will be VERY happy. I would be VERY excited regardless of all the ney sayers...LOL

People still buying the 40D by the truck loads

I guess you got lucky and your camera wasn't part of the yard sale on the side of the freeway yesterday when the Fedex trailer rolled. And congrats on the new camera.
