I would like to be an assistant portrait/studio/wedding photographer! When I picked up my digital camera a few years ago I went out and for nearly a year shot nature, some fine-arts, and newsie stuff for the local paper, in the Spring of 2006, started getting antsy with the nature and stated shooting sports with abandon and have done exceedinly well with this. I want to still shoot sports, but lately I have been wanting to do more portraiture and I have assisted with one wedding that I was approached to do in 2004 or 5 and directed them to a friend who was a good wedding photog, and i did backup to see if I would like it or not.
At the time I didn't particularily care for it. But lately... I am drawn to it and have agreed to do a semi-formal/casual outdoor wedding in Front Royal in the spring and feel confident that I canhandle that one, because it's someone I have been covering for over a year.
I am hungry to learn more and figured assisting would be good way to go. Could you guys point me in the best direction of who and how to approach?
Linda
