Cost me $201 including shipping from Amazon.com. Quite a nice lens so far. Here's another recommendation for this lens if you're on a budget. I do a lot of exterior real estate photos and I often use it when I have to shoot a house perched up in the foothills or from a distance across a large fenced lawn or field. Pretty acceptable for wildlife too. Try eBay, Amazon and Sigma4Less.

It wont be fast, but its got a decent amount of zoom and apparently both of them ( Sigma and Canon ) are relatively cheap.
