Anyway, I have a bout $400+ish to spend, I'm definately getting a flash:

430ex + BG-E3 Grip for my xt

or

580ex II

My xt is unconfortable and thouhgt a grip would help a lot + I would be getting a flash, but the 580 is tempting.

So my question is:

Is the 580 a drastic change from a 430ex?.....will the 430ex be sufficient enough for a while? What are their most important differences?

only really significant difference is quicker access to some functions on the flash and the ability to use it as a master with a 430EX or another 580EX as a slave. Oh sure, weather sealing, blah blah blah... the 580 is much heavier on the camera and both do a great job .

The XT grip, when I woned an xt was lovely. Buy the 430 and a grip.
