I can't get my hands on one yet but I know I am going to love it. These posts help out a lot.

Well, this thread has certainly solidified my choice of upgrade from the 20D.

My wife hates you all...

I'm love my new 40D, but I'm bringing it back to the retailer in exchange for another one. Pictures are coming out soft, and some slight front focusing... enough to really annoy me.

Love the camera, but gotta watch out for the first 40D's that roll off the assembly line, they are prone to more quality problems on the manufacturing level (I don't know this for a fact, and hopefully Canon upholds there quality and standards regardless when a camera is manufactured. I make this statement because I've worked in a similar manufacturing environment).

There have been other reports of front focusing and AF issues I've read here on POTN, and hopefully I'll be happy with my exchanged 40D (going this morning!)

My 40D is coming out soft as well. I am going to do an exchange later on today and see how that turns out, or maybe i'll just send it back to Canon to calibrate instead.

Coming from an XTi, this camera has a much better ergonomics, fast AF, higher ISO, fast fps and....a nicer neckstrap :)

My complains (hopefully it's a quality control issue) - same resolution screen as the XTi, and the color comes out a little dull and have a yellow tint to it. The shutter sound is not as crisp as the XTi as i am used to (i am sure i'll get used to it).

Just checking this out to see what people have added, funny how I tried to keep it positive, but still some people ignore the whole idea of the thread. If you want to post about it being soft, blurry, then start a new topic...I am sick of reading people's negative comments about the 40d.....while they might have valid and true points, I wanted a positive and upbeat thread about the good things about the 40d. Oh well, always gonna be the glass is half empty crowd.
