I can't get my hands on one yet but I know I am going to love it. These posts help out a lot.

Pictures are coming out soft, and some slight front focusing... enough to really annoy me. Love the camera, but gotta watch out for the first 40D's that roll off the assembly line, they are prone to more quality problems on the manufacturing level (I don't know this for a fact, and hopefully Canon upholds there quality and standards regardless when a camera is manufactured. I make this statement because I've worked in a similar manufacturing environment). There have been other reports of front focusing and AF issues I've read here on POTN, and hopefully I'll be happy with my exchanged 40D (going this morning!) My 40D is coming out soft as well. I am going to do an exchange later on today and see how that turns out, or maybe i'll just send it back to Canon to calibrate instead. 6D | 5D2 | 24L II | 35L | 85L II | 100L | Panasonic GX7 | Olympus 12/2.0 | Panasonic 20/1.7

Oct 03, 2007 15:28 | #49 Just checking this out to see what people have added, funny how I tried to keep it positive, but still some people ignore the whole idea of the thread. If you want to post about it being soft, blurry, then start a new topic...I am sick of reading people's negative comments about the 40d.....while they might have valid and true points, I wanted a positive and upbeat thread about the good things about the 40d. Oh well, always gonna be the glass is half empty crowd. http://www.randypond.ca
