As we spend hours discussing the sharpness of a $1000 lens wide open, etc, it's always nice to know that it's possible to still take excellent pictures with cheap lens. Once in a while someone will just tell people to go out with what they have and take pics.

So as a student with little money to spend on glass, I want to see what you guys have acheived using 18-55s, 75-300s, and whatever other lens that people have deemed as "crappy" (avoid nifty fifty pics, though, we all know how sharp this lens can be).

Shot with a Canon 28-90 kit lens, on an Elan 7E using Kodak Gold 100. Developed and scanned to disc @ Wal-Mart!!!

Not my best, but this was printed 8X12 and given to my Brother who lives in Portland ME. If you don't recognize the location, this is that light house you see EVERYWHERE from Portland, ME... My Brother loves the pic, and has it hanging still. Of course, the horrizon was leveled and printers did a good job with the colors to make it nicer in print.

The 'crappiest' of the lenses i've owned, canons 35/2 (which is a great little lens for the money).

I have a further tweaked version of this somewhere, but I've always been pretty happy with the out of the camera version.
