Yes! I can throw the Domke inserts that I already have in those bags! Just in time too! I was about to pull the trigger on either the Crumpler 5MDH or Domke F-3X.

Woo Hoo!

Seems to be a lot of bag modifying with different inserts.

heh heh... No need to modify anything. ;) Especially if they're the padded Domke inserts that simply drop into the bag like the ones I already have here...

Yeah, that's pretty cool. I just don't care for the bio-hazard symbol on the bag. I'd rather have the red cross/first-aid bag they have if I were going for something like that, but I'm not. ;)

5MDH will NOT fit 5D + 24-70L attached. I have try fitting 30D+24-70L in it. This combo is about 1/2" taller than the 5MDH. The flap will still close because of the velcro. But the inside mash will go against the 30D LCD. I will not call it a good fit.

I normally put 30D+17-55IS in it. This combo just fit. The 5MHD is not design for anything taller. I will only use it for taller combo in emergency case.

Yes! Mine holds my 20D w/ 18-50 F2.8 attached 430EX and 70-200 F2.8. I wish I could get a pic, but my g/f has my S3. I'll get a pic of the setup though with my 20D out.

EDIT: w/e is cheapest.

20D goes int he empty space, vertically, as in the shutter button is at the top. Closes how I like. Not on the velcro so I only deal with the clip.

It's only 5 in, it would fit. It might even go long ways. Good fit is left up to the user. It fits. the 70-200 F.28 is 8". He already decieded, but it does fit.

Trust me, xxD or xD attacked to 24-70L is NOT something that I would call "fit". The bag will close, I will still use it if I have no choice. But if I were to buy new bag, I would choose a bigger bag for this setup

I don't own 24-70L, I just rented it for a weekend, so I cannot show you picture. I can show you pciture with xxD with 17-55IS attached. This set up is barely the height as the 5MDH. The 24-70L is at least 1 inch longer than the 17-55IS.

The 70-200 itself fits better because its top area is very small compare to the area of a camera body. You try to put something under your body+lens setup so that it is at the same heigh as your 70-200, you will know what I mean.

What about this one?

Must... get... to... bed.

I was about to suggest that, I've got one; Suzy's got one. It does quite nicely for that.

Another option would have been the new Domke F-8. I will let you know how I like mine. ;)
