Here we go. The bag is made of a soft canvas material. Seems durable enough. Easily holds one body, flash, 2 lenses and other accessories if needed. The important thing is that this bag really does look inconspicuous.

The Domke insert is held in with super heavy duty velcro strips. It's stuck in there with adhesive right now, but I plan to sew it in place for durability...

With 5D + 24-70L (hood reversed). Optech loop strap, 580ex, 70-200 f2.8L IS (hood reversed will fit as well)...

Extra pocket up front behind the main flap. Great for carrying cards, filters, AA batteries, etc...

Nice bag you got there, brother. ;)

Yeah, I can put another body in mine as well if I remove the 580ex from its current location in the center pouch and put it in the extra front pocket of the bag instead. But this is meant to be an ultra-light carry rig. So far so good.

I've got another question for you Lord:
What are you using under your Domke Insert? I have a few inserts myself and I was surprised by their lack of padding on the bottom (the end that gets used most often!)... I bought one of these to go under mine:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com …il.jsp&A=search&Q=*&bhs=t (external link)
but they only come in 5 3/4" width so they might be too wide for that bag...

I love the stealth look though. I've been using a Tamrac Pro 5, but I wish it were 3 lenses wide instead of the 2 that it is. This might be the perfect solution for me. Too bad that Domke Insert is out of stock, or I'd be ordering one today and making a trip to my local army surplus.

Very interesting: the two-compartment (one big, one small) interior and the steel snaphooks make the bag look almost like the sand colored version of the Domke F-802. The Domke has two additional pockets but that's just a minor difference. Those two bags could almost be from the same family.

What about this one?

http://www.amazon.com …4&s=photo#customerReviews (external link)

Must... get... to... bed.

I've got one of these. It's good for an 400D with 28-75 Tamron attached and either another lens of about the same depth as the body with lens attached. Leaves room for a couple of memory cards and spare batteries but not much else. No way a 5D with 24-70L attached will fit and be able to close the zipper. Oh, yeah, the main compartment closes with a nice zipper. It might work if you leave the zipper open and just use the flap/velcro to secure the top of the bag. It's a BIG chunk of velcro so I doubt it would come open accidentally. Can't imagine something in the Domke line wouldn't work for you. Look at the F-4AF. I carry a 40D with 24-70L attached and have room for a 70-200 f4L and a 430EX with lots of room on the front and side pockets for miscellaneous stuff. It's not as tidy looking as the F-3X but I don't have one of those and don't know if the body with lens attached would fit.

Well this morning on whiskey militia they had this Zoo York messenger bag on sale for $11.99:

IMAGE: http://images.whiskeymilitia.com/images/items/large/ZOO0236/TMW.jpg

so I ordered it and I'll be getting the triple domke insert as soon as it's in stock again.

Lord, any word on what you put on the bottom of the bag for protection, or does the triple insert have padding on the bottom.

Yeah, there's no padding on the bottom of the Domke insert, so I'll have to improvise and add a few layers of foam padding on the bottom of the bag. I'll post pictures of the solution.

I can put the grip on the 5D as well. I'll post pics to support this later.

And I thought it was manly enough being it's a replica "Paratrooper" bag and all! Oh well. I tried. At least it doesn't have a rainbow or nothing like that on it. I suppose I can sew on some of my cool old Army unit patches like 1st Infantry Division or 3rd Armored Cavalry. That should alleviate some of the anti-heterosexualness of the bag. ;)
