shield bug on tree bark

caught this one at the base of the tree and he walk up the trunk. i stop it and coral it to this section of bark. kinda cheating i know

Just clean them up in photoshop or similar program - should take all of 2 mins

even though i got that many post. still pretty new at this. still trying to learn how to edit. haven't gotten that far yet. i know pretty sad huh

No problem we all start somewhere at sometime.

One things for sure they're great shots for a newbie - looking forward to seeing more when you get "good"

Cleaned second pic up a bit also increased the contrast and sharpness a little - hope you don't mind.

remove lens, put camera in sensor cleaning mode, hold it upside down and blow the sensor with a Rocket Blower. Piece of cake. You could be unlucky and have bits that wont shift like that ie you'd need to learn the wet clean method but I bet a simple blower gets rid of most of it. Remember to turn camera off when you have finished!

Toby i try using the blower the dust won't move gonna have to do the wet method. i never done this way too chicken but i'm gonna have to either do it or send it in. so i'm learning how to do editting for now.

bit more scary but basically just 2 drops of Eclipse fluid on a digi pad or similar swab and draw swab across sensor (actually the protective glass), repeat with other side of swab. Fluid will evaporate leaving clean smudge free sensor. You might have to repeat if there is a stubborn spot or slight smudge. Once you've done it you'll wonder what all the fuss is about.
