I have been using my markIII recently in concert settings and have gotten magnificent results...i took my 40D out last night to try it out in a concert setting with difficult lighting...paul rogers in NYC....the camera acquitted itself extremely well..i was very pleased...take a look for those interested in the abilities of the 40D in such a setting

you were getting some good lighting. shooting high in the 1/160-250 @ f/1.8-2.0 in ISO1600, but yes the camera did extremely well. Im glad to see that it can preform very well under those conditions. thanks :)

actually, the lighting was very spotty...from shot to shot i would go from 50 -200 in terms of shutter speed...it was a challenge to catch the shots when the light was right...quite a few of the lower shutter speed shots didnt make my final cut!

Thanks for sharing your low light shots....ISO1600? or 3200. Doing a night football tonight and I'm planning on using ISO3200 with my 40D. Just out of curiousity, did you apply any noise filter in your post processing, or are your examples of the noise reduction feature in the camera?
