I'm looking to buy a new 4gb memory card for my Canon 350d. I'm not sure whether to go for the Sandisk Ultra II, or the Sandisk Extreme III. The extreme III has got faster write speeds (and is only a few quid more) but I'm not sure if the Extreme III is compatible with my camera. Has anyone got one that works with the Canon 350d? Cheers.

Sorry - meant to post in Accessories section.

you can use Extreme III cards in a 350D, but the camera can't write to the card fast enough for it to be any benefit. A 350D can't write to an ultra II at the full speed of the card. I recommend you save that few quid extra it'll cost for the Extreme III and buy me a pint ;)

I used Ultra II as the extreme III are no faster, i.e. the card is still faster than the camera!

Both work, prices of one vs. other depends on who is running a sale on a given week. I have gotten some good deals for memory at Buy.com and also (Kingston memory) at Adorama.com

may not be any faster in your camera, but should download faster to your pc (if not using camera cord)

i use Ultra2 2GB since theyre faster than 4GB. i dont see much difference compared to Ultra3's... so i stopped buying III's. download speed to PC isnt an issue -- i can wait. what matters to me is the time in which the camera writes the buffer to CF.
