It certainly can't compare to the DSLRs but it is excellent for a P&S. I posted a few shots in various forums over the weekend. I'm rather pleased with the IQ. Not so much with the AWB.

Thanks. I went ahead and checked out the posted pix about the friendly child in the park and the white ibis. Not bad at all. I still have my G2 and am always paying attention to the G series models even I only use DSLR nowadays.
