That's Europe & Canada announced; still waiting on the U.S. (taps foot impatiently...).

In the past, has there been any correlation between the rebate amounts and/or breadth of lenses that qualify in the U.S., based on either Canon Europe or Canon Canada's announcements?

Funny I was at Henrys last weekend and the 24-70 f/2.8L was $1499.00 plus taxes.
I know because I even got a quote when there.
I checked their website 1st before going to.
NOW its $1649.00 before taxes???!!!!!!!!!!

B&H did the same thing with last years rebate and were caught and called out on it. They retracted the price increase and claimed it was a data entry error. Yeh right.

You're absolutely right. I know it was 1499 too because I remember it was 20 more than Downtown Camera... who still have theirs listed at 1479.

But it's not a Henry's rebate so you can just pick it up elsewhere if you're interested in it for the rebate.

Shame on Henry's though, essentially price gouging.

Then they wonder if they even do...why people go to mail order or elsewhere
I have often pondered.....there must still be enough mainstream buyers out there to fill the till

A lot of people I know will just walk into Henry's or FutureShop/BestBuy and buy whatever they're looking for, and pay the 10% premium. It's either laziness, the need for instant gratification, or just not knowing/trusting better options.

And don't even try to convince them to order from B&H. ;)
