Wanted to post this last night but the dialup connection cut off just as it was about to upload, grrr. The hoverfly shot was the only decent shot from Thursday out of around a dozen, was very disappointed in myself. Just couldn't see if the eyes were sharp and when they looked sharp, the eyes were OOF when using the magnifier on the LCD. The only one that was sharp, looked OOF on the main screen at normal mags, go figure. I thought it might have been the dioptre wheel had been knocked, but tested my focus on a few other things and was spot on. I can only think that the heavily shaded light at that late time of the day was doing weird things with my eyes. Either that or not enough coffee ;)

The other bug was taken a week and a bit ago and is a 100% crop. Not sure what it is, ID would be greatly appreciated if anyone knows.

Dave

Lovely shots Dave- #2 is a varied carpet beetle - named not because it looks like it's got a carpet on it's back but because the larvae like eating natural fibre carpets.

Ah thanks Brian. I think Mark posted a similar shot only recently if memory serves me correct. Glad it's outside then and not inside ;)

Thanks :) Still not really happy with myself yet, although today sort of made up for it ;) Sort of. I'll post that image later.
