My first macro shot with the 40D. I don't plan to use it for macro, but I had to shoot something. The high ISO performance really kicks butt.

I hardly ever come to this forum, but I'm beginning to really like macro. You guys are very good at it.

what are your plans for the 40D - birds/sport? Nice shot - only ISO 100 though, have you got an 800iso macro example?

I plan to use it for wildlife, sports, portraits etc. I was going to just buy another 30D, but all the great reveiws on the 40D convinced me to go with it.

I've only taken a couple shots with Macro. Do you mean iso 800 with no flash?

ok, I'm not used to shooting without a flash. Here are a couple at 800 and one at 3200. Out of the camera, into DPP, converted to JPG no crop. I did sharpen. I tried to include shadows so you could see more noise.

800
