The situation was a dog athletic event - flyball. The dogs race over a series of hurdles. I put my cam on a tripod, pointed it just above the hurdle, set to a single AF point, pre-focused, and set off the shutter. When a dog came over the hurdle, the camera fired. The problem I had was with depth-of-field. It fired too early, and by the second frame the dog was past the top. I did better with my own sense of timing. David
