Great pics Brian. That crop sure has a lot of detail in it. I am sure you must put honey or something on your car for them to be so attracted to it....or maybe it is just a sweet car. LOL!!

tried to guess what was coming from the title but was way out (Speckled Bush Cricket). Great photos, amazing detail.

Joan- think it's more a case of these tiny wasps are easier to spot on a large relatively plain surface

Toby- I just find wasps in general fascinating but these little chalcid wasps are just beautiful.

From the title I though this would be an ichneumon, so I wasn't that far out.

Bernie- you were right - these are a type of Ichneumon wasp

Lance - sorry no 3-Ds these very rarely hold still for long.#1 5:1, #2 4:1 - think #2 was cropped slightly.

Chandler - AFAIK Ichneumon wasps like these cannot sting even though some of them look like they have fearsome stings on the rear end (they are the ovipositors)
