20D's are even more of a bargain. They go for $500US in great condition. Take just as good of photos as the 30D.

I don't trust ebay and I will definitly think twice before I decide to buy something on it. MY friend buy 200mm f2.8L and when he got it it looks like it pass war in Iraque in what condition it was... (on pictures was normal), so if I wanna buy something I buy localy or new in USA :)

My current status: Canon 7D Mark II / Canon 5D Mark II / 17-40 f4.0L / 24-70 f2,8L / 70-200 f2.8L / 300mm f2.8 / 50mm f1.8 / 100mm f2.8 macro/ Speedlight 550EX / 1,4 extender

I agree with you, buying on eBay can be a gamble. However, I wouldn't completely rule it out. I've bought plenty of camera toys from there... all at a fraction of the price you'd find at any store. You just have to know how to use it and do your homework. There are actually authentic camera stores (i.e. Canoga Camera) that have turned to eBay and if you know how to look, you can find true stores selling their products at a great price. Also, did your friend use PayPal? PayPal is a secure way of sending money online... he probably could have contacted PayPal about her purchase and they would have gotten his money back from him.

ONE handsome husband + THREE cute puppies + ONE 30D + THREE pieces of glass (Nifty Fifty, 18-55IS, 55-250) = ONE happy EmmyLou!

Well I have it in my posession, it's as described, works (tho i've not pixel peeped yet). Viewfinder, lcd and handling seem miles better than the 350D.
Obviously only time will tell but on initial impressions I'm very happy!

Just ebayed myself an 18 month old 30D for £370 posted. Thats Half the price of a 40D and less even than a new 400D! Thank you all very very much.

Wow that took forever to receive. That was over a month ago that you first posted about it!

20Ds and 30Ds are a mega bargain now, especially considering their performance. I'm glad I got out of mine early so I lost MUCH less on the sale. Might pick up another one someday soon though.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

I agree. I still use it to get the minor stuff...old M42 lenses, cheap eBay triggers, etc. I check here first though for EOS stuff.

Blimey I thought this thread was lost in the mists of time, anyway an update. I'm very happy with the 30D... the 350D was a very good camera, this ones just nicer to use!
