Lovely shot of it :-) Had a couple similar to this around my small pond yesterday but they wouldnt stay still long enough for a pic and now its raining so no chance.

Very nice shot Craig, you've nailed the lighting again and it's very sharp. How large was this Hoverfly? I've never seen a Hoverfly like this...
