Hi guys
I was thinking to buy a tripod mount from ebay for my Canon 70-200/F2.8L IS.
I was wondering if those tripod mounts are good material that won't break unexpectantly.
Anyone has any experience with it?

While I saved a few bucks I don't know if I would buy one again. It works fine and I have had no issues with it, but I am very careful with my gear. I doubt it would withstand any abuse. THe paint is already wearing off as well. I don't know if the Canon version has some type of retainer for the locking screw, but the eBay one does not so it could easily get lost. I believe somewhere on this site is horror story of someone who bought one and the aluminum had a bubble in it and it snapped in half. Canon 5DMkII, 7D, 40D, Elan 7E, EOS 10s, G12

Yeah.. thanks guys.. I was thinking something like that... is it a good idea to buy from ebay? Or pay like 100 some for the real thing from canon. Or any other places?
