Not near as close as some of the ones I have seen. Wife wont like it when I tell her, "I want to get closer, to the bugs I mean."

My mum is one of those people who just kills bugs cos 'they're in my way', even when they present no danger. My father is fascinated by them after seeing some of my images. You've gotten reasonably close, it's some sort of flesh fly I suspect. I took a few shots of a very similar looking fly this arvo. I take it this was a biggish fly, probably around 12mm long?
