I'm selling my D200, and I was wondering would a 30D be enought to shoot a wedding or should I go for something higher?

huh? you have gotta be joking, right?

30D is more than enough to produce excellent top notch wedding shots.

I agree with Lloyd, as much as I would love to have a 5D, my 20 and 30D do a great job. At the end of the day, it's the lens that makes the big difference anyway.

My dual 30D's are fantastic for wedding work.

I've put the 5D dream aside. There's no standard f/2.8 zoom with IS for the 5D anyway ;-)a

I love my 30D ... planning on buying either a second 30D or a 40D body next year.

I used two 20Ds until one was stolen, now I use a 20D & a 30D, they're more than enough. I could've had a 5D but I prefer the smaller sensors. A 40D would be fantastic, I might get one some time.

30D is fine, shooting with just one body isnt fine .... whetever you use you should have at least 2 of them.

I use 2 x 30Ds for all my weddings and Iam really happy with the quality that they produce. The only thing on my wishlist now is the 70-200 f2.8 IS

Same same...

I'm currently also using a 30D and love it...

After reading this thread... might change my target from a 5D to a 40D instead... :P

Cheers Guys

40D + 17-55 f2.8 IS is the killer combo.

If you like to shoot wide, definitely go with a 5D, but a 30D will get the job done just as well. The 5D is slightly better at ISO 1600 and 3200, but the 40D, from what I have been reading, is giving the 5D some competition in the high ISO noise game.

I think that it all just comes down to your style of shooting, and whether you want full-frame, or crop. Both bodies will serve you well. But if your considering a 5D, that tells me that you have the cash for a new 40D. I'd go for that one over the 30D if you decide that FF is not for you.

EDIT: Stupid me just realized that you are not considering a 5D, but it has been mentioned and that kinda threw me off. A 30D is plenty good for a wedding.
