Erk scorpions in the uk ?

Apparently, they like to hitch a ride on larger insects to get around.

I have no knowledge of these things but, my father is big on bugs so to speak and tells me this is why you find them on other insects.

I think the mating bit is probably coincidental.

These things are quite funny when they attach themselves to a fly - they seem to go rigid

Wouldn't that be the easiest time to get ride because neither of the flies are likely to fly away for a while?

Chandler - the general consensus seems to be as you suggest- it's just a conveniant time to attach to a fly when they grounded and otherwise occupied.
